Sponsor:

Hoowaki, LLC

Brief abstract:

Background:
Sponsor has developed technologies that allow for building of micro-structures on a substrate, and wishes to explore methods for transferring of structure geometry to large surfaces in different materials.

Project Scope:
The objective of the project is to produce sample molded parts built in mold plates to be supplied by sponsor. Samples will be built in polymer, then in metal through metal injection molding with sintering. The metallic samples with then be used as mold inserts for polymer injection molding, and as EDM electrodes for transferring geometry to base metal structures.

Project schedule:

Start: 1Q2010; Injection of first samples (polymer): 2Q2010; Injection of first samples (Metal powder): 3Q2010; Testing of electrodes: 3/4Q2010
